Romanian businessman Florin Pogonaru wants to borrow EUR 35 million to finance the mall he wants to build near the Obor market.

The project is run by Prodplast Imobiliare, a company which Pogonaru controls. The firm wants to increase its capital by EUR 10 million to support the project, which will be discussed by the company’s shareholders in August, according to an official announcement.

It also wants to access a EUR 35 million loan, for a 30-year period to finance the development of the Veranda Shopping Center mall, on some 25,000 sqm. It will be located on the site of the former Prosplast plastics factory, which is also controlled by Pogonaru and was relocated.

The company already signed retailer Carrefour as its main tenant for 10,000 sqm.
