Romania gets EUR 8.7 mln Swiss help for durable energy

Romania and Switzerland recently signed an agreement on durable energy management, which aims at improving municipal infrastructure, increase awareness on energy efficiency, and covers renewable energy as well.

The agreement covers a set of measures to be applied over 40 months, within a budget exceeding 9.7 million Swiss francs – the equivalent of EUR 8.7 million. Most of the budget is a grant the Swiss Confederation offered Romania, as part of its contribution to reducing social and economic discrepancies within the European Union.

Romania’s Public Finance Minister Attila Gyorgy and the Swiss Confederation Ambassador to Romania Jean-Hubert Lebet have recently signed the agreement.
