Romania ranks 30th in the world for coffee consumption

Romania ranks 30th in the world for coffee consumption, with 0.5 cups per day per person, according to data from the Romanian Coffee Association (ARC, cited by local Agerpres.

The ranking is led by the Netherlands with 2.4 cups per day, followed by Finland with 1.8 cups and Sweden with 1.3 cups.

The annual coffee consumption in Romania is still low compared to many countries around the world, of only 2.3 kg per capita, according to data from the International Coffee Organization, compared to 7.96 kg in Austria or 6.95 in Germany. The consumption of coffee is also higher in other countries in Eastern Europe, such as Poland - 3.19 kg per capita, or neighboring Bulgaria with 2.9 kg.
