Romania and Hungary connect highways

02 July 2015

Romania and Hungary will inaugurate a new border checkpoint on July 11, next week. It will link the two countries by interconnecting Romania’s A1 and Hungary’s M43 highways, between Nadlac (Romania) and Csanadpalota (Hungary).

Romania will also inaugurate the second segment of the Nadlac-Arad highway, part of the A1 highway, on July 11, reports local Mediafax. Hungary will open its highway segment between the border and Mako on the same day.

The new checkpoint will ease both the international passenger and freight traffic, according to the Romanian Government. The freight traffic will have a weight limit of 7.5 tons between Nadlac and Nagylak.
