Over 120,000 tourists to the Romanian seaside during busiest weekend

04 August 2014

More than 120,000 tourists were registered in Romania’s seaside resorts at the Black Sea during last weekend, according to official data from hotels and other accommodation units. This makes this the busiest weekend at the seaside this season.

Hotels in Mamaia, the busiest Romanian resort at the Black Sea, were fully occupied, while in resorts on the Southern part of the coast, the occupancy rate was higher than 90 percent, according to Corina Martin, president of the Litoral-Delta Dunarii association.

She said that in addition to the tourists officially registered in hotels, a few thousands more went to the seaside to stay with friends or relatives, or in private unregistered guest houses.
