Live video streaming from kindergarten for parents under new pilot project in Romania

10 September 2014

Six kindergartens in the central Romanian city of Brasov will start a video surveillance pilot project in September, allowing parents who register online to watch live footage of their kids in class, according to Mediafax newswire.

The system will also have a component to detect breaking and entering. The live video streaming can be accessed on the Brasov city hall website, at the Services for Citizen section, but only for registered parents. Anonymous access to the portal will not be allowed. The City Hall is yet to select the six kindergartens which will benefit from this system.

The public pre-school system is thus trying to keep up with the private education system, which has been offering such surveillance system, a unique sales point that has attracted parents, according to the Brasov City Hall.
