Gothaer Asigurari, the local subsidiary of German group Gothaer, underwrote gross premiums of EUR 8.2 million in the first half of the year, 50% more than the company’s estimates. Last year the insurer recorded gross underwritten premiums of almost EUR 19 million, up 26% year-on-year.

The agricultural insurance improved in the first semester of the year, together with the guarantee insurance and the car insurance CASCO.

In 2014, the agricultural insurance policies had the largest share in the total compensation paid by Gothaer Romania, which amounted to EUR 14.2 million, and represented three quarters of the total premiums written by the insurer.
