Director: Romanian state –owned TVR could close in spring if no agreement with unions
The state-owned Romanian television TVR could be forced to shut down next spring, as it will not survive financially if it will not be supported by its employee unions, said its director Stelian Tanase. However, the president of the main employee union at TVR, Dragos Bocanaciu, says the management is trying to hide irregularities, according to Hotnews.ro
The unions recently sued TVR for upgrading some salaries, asking for extra money, further adding to the financial burden, said the TVR director. On the other hand, the unions say the employees are not to blame for TVR’s bad financial situation.
They reminded of the management’s faults, including that of bringing external collaborators on high salaries, while sacking old TVR employees.
