Chinese company Huawei sold 130,000 smartphones in Romania in the first half of the year. Its market share thus reached 6% in June.

The firm’s turnover on the smartphone segment increased by 40% in the first six months of the year, compared to the same period in 2014, said Sorina Macarescu, Huawei Devices Romania country manager, cited by local Mediafax.

Last year, Huawei sold 200,000 units and had a 4.5% market share. Its turnover on the phone segment amounted to USD 30 million in 2014.

Huawei Romania currently has over 1,200 employees, but the number will grow in the next period as the company plans to further develop its local business.
