Bucharest International Jazz Competition will take place this year between May 11 and May 18, under the slogan 100% jazz.
A total of 16 jazz groups, from 13 countries reached the semifinals of the competition, the organizers announced. In a variety of scenic formulas - quintet, quartet, trio and duo – the artists will showcase the newest jazz trends from Australia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Poland, Russia, Turkey, US and Ukraine.
The jazz competition is part of EUROPAfest, a festival gathering four music genres: jazz, blues, pop, and classical. The festival takes place between May 9 and May 18 and is expected to bring over 250 artists from 35 countries to Bucharest.
The agenda of the festival includes an opening gala concert, jazz, blues, pop, and classical music concerts, the Jeunesses International Music Competition Dinu Lipatti, Caffe Festival, Festival's corner, and the EUROPAfest gala.
