The average net wage in Romania was RON 1,687 (EUR 383), in June 2014, only RON 5, or 0.3% more than in May. Compared to June 2013, the average net wage increased by 5%.

The largest average net wage was in oil and gas extracting industry and the lowest in the hotels and restaurants sector.

The average net wage for workers in oil and gas extraction was RON 4,707 (EUR 1,067) almost five times higher than for employees in hotels and restaurants, who earned an average RON 981 (EUR 222). The average gross wage was RON 2,334 (EUR 529).
