Austria, the UK or Germany are Romanians’ first options for medical advice and treatments abroad. These destinations were chosen by over 60 percent of the respondents in a study conducted by MediHelp International, cited by local Mediafax.

The hospitals and clinics in Romania are usually chosen for treating minor health problems.

“Greece, Israel, Turkey, Switzerland and Hungary occupy the following places,” reads the study, which also shows that the main benefits the patients seek are hospitalization, a second medical opinion, and ambulatory care.
