Inspectors from the general antifraud directorate checked 27 restaurants and cafes in the Dorobanti-Floreasca-Primaverii areas in Bucharest late last week.

They closed down 11 units which failed to issue fiscal receipts, according to a statement of the Romanian Tax Administration ANAF cited by local Wall-street.ro.

The inspectors also applied fines worth some RON 700,000 (EUR 159,000).

According to the statement, these controls which aim at preventing tax evasion will continue in the next period.
