Tickets for Romania's George Enescu Festival on sale Monday, could sell-out fast

piano enescuAround 40,000 individual tickets are to go on sale on Monday (April 15 ) for the George Enescu classical music festival in Romania. Held only once every two years, the festival celebrates the work of the Romanian composer and brings some of the world's finest orchestral musicians to the country. The event is running in September this year and the tickets could go within a few days after the festival passes sold out in record time when they went on sale in mid-January.

Over 150 events are scheduled to take place from September 1 to 28, in Bucharest and several other cities – Arad, Bacau, Brasov, Cluj, Iasi, Oradea, Sibiu and Timisoara.

The George Enescu Festival will again celebrate Enescu's compositions alongside performances of other great composers, such as Giuseppe Verdi and Benjamin Britten, Schoenberg, Mahler and Beethoven.

Tickets go on sale from 10:00 on April 15 and are available via the Eventim network, both online and in Germanos, Orange, Vodafone, Domo, Humanitas and Cărtureşti shops. Online sales via Eventim will also be available in other European countries. Ticket prices range from some RON 45 to upwards of RON 80, depending on category, venue and concert.
