The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu on gala preview at Sala Palatului, former stage of communist conventions

The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu, a movie directed by Andrei Ujica, will be screened on Thursday, October 28, from 18,00 hours, at Sala Palatului (MAP) Entry tickets are RON 5 and those who will have the RON 5 bills from the communist era can use them to buy tickets. Entry is free for students. The event will also feature an exhibition by Romanian artist Ion Barladeanu, who starred in the documentary 'The World According to Ion B'.

Sala Palatului, where the documentary about communist ruler Nicolae Ceausescu will be screened, is the place where the meetings of the Communist Party used to take place. It is also where the Communist Party held its last congress in November 1989, when Nicolae Ceausescu read a political report for six hours, while ovations and applauses lasted for 100 minutes.

The documentary is part of a trilogy on communism, which also features ‘Videograms from a revolution’, created by Andrei Ujica and Harun Farucki in 1992 and ‘Out of the present’ from 1995. This documentary covers 25 years in the life of Nicolae Ceausescu and was made using 1,000 hours of original footage from the Romanian Archives.
