The companies which are active in the Dragonul Rosu compound in Bucharest, known for the high number of Chinese investors, will be checked daily, said Gelu Stefan Diaconu, president of Romania’s Tax Agency ANAF.

The action is necessary, because of the high level of tax evasion in the compound, as well as the large amount of goods traded here. ANAF will bring tax inspectors from other regions to Bucharest, to double the control force in the capital.

In three days of controls in the Dragonul Rosu compound, tax inspectors have checked 144 companies, issued 152 fines worth a total of EUR 293,000, and seized EUR 148,000 worth of goods.
