Romanians affected by flooding in neighboring Bulgaria brought back home by authorities

23 June 2014

The recent flooding in neighboring Bulgaria affected 1,000 Romanians who were on holiday in the country, but only 32 of them asked for the help of Romanian authorities, who organized their return to the country by bus.

Romanian authorities also helped bring back to Romania eight cars belonging to Romanian tourists that had been damaged by the flooding.

Romanians say that their cars could have been saved if only the Bulgarian authorities let them know about the flooding, so they could have parked their cars elsewhere.

Varna and several resorts in Bulgaria, including Albena, were affected by flooding last week after the heavy rain, which caused the death of ten.
