Romanian to interim at helm of Microsoft Romania as Binkofski heads to Poland

10 January 2013

A Romanian will take over the helm of Microsoft Romania from Ronald Binkofski, who will leave Romania to lead the Microsoft subsidiary in Poland, two years after being named head of the Romanian one. His leaving seems to be unexpected, as the company has named an interim for Romania, Sorin Eftene (in picture), former director of the Enterprise&Partner Group within Microsoft Romania.

The interim director is one of the first employees of the Romanian subsidiary of Microsoft, having held several management positions in the Microsoft Services division. After the naming, Eftene will become member of the management team for Microsoft in Central and Eastern Europe.

When appointed two years ago, Binkofski said he was planning of leading Microsoft Romania for at least three years. Back then, he replaced Calin Tatomir. Binkofski had joined Microsoft Romania from the Polish subsidiary, where he had worked for the last five years as Developer & Platform Evangelism Lead and Director of Marketing, Business and Operations.
