Romanian PM attends UN General Assembly in New York, meets Halliburton & Exxon Mobile managers this week

Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta will be in the US between September 23 and September 25, for the 69th regular session of the General Assembly of the United Nations. During his stay, he will meet representatives of the Romanian community in the US and managers of American companies.

Ponta will hold the national speech during the plenary meeting scheduled for September 25, and will have a series of meetings with counterparts from countries participating in the debate, as well as UN officials, according to a statement of the Romanian government. In New York, Ponta will also attend a series of events and will have a meeting with representatives of the Romanian community in the US.

The visit in the US will continue on September 26, when the Romanian official will have meetings with Halliburton and Exxon Mobile managers, as well as representatives of other American companies active in the oil and natural gas sector. He will also attend the event "Romania, the gateway to a secure and diversified energy sector" hosted by the World Affairs Council and will visit Exxon Mobile’s technology center.

During the meetings, Ponta will present the investment opportunities in the energy sector in Romania and will promote the capabilities of Romanian companies active in the energy sector, as providers of services and local expertise in projects in Romania and other regions.
