Romanian footballer gets 6-year jail sentence in the UK for carrying cocaine

Razvan Voicu Florea, a former Romanian footballer, was sentenced to 6 years in prison in the UK for carrying cocaine.

He has been caught carrying 16 kilograms of cocaine during a routine police control on the M6 motorway, close to Crewe in England.

Florea, who had been living in London for some time, pleaded guilty and got a 6-year jail sentence, according to Hotnews.ro.

Voicu Florea appeared in 8 matches in Romania’s top football league between 2005 and 2007 when he was playing for local club Gloria Bistrita. Most of his career, however, he played in the lower leagues, for teams such as Farul Constanta, Unirea Alba Iulia, Dunarea Galati, and Unirea Slobozia. He retired from professional football in 2014.
