A Romanian citizen died after the truck attack in Nice on July 14, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) announced on Tuesday.

He was a member of a Romanian family reported missing right after the incident. The French authorities confirmed his death.

“The procedure for identifying the Romanian victim's body, carried out by the French authorities, was completed recently, with the support of the Romanian authorities,” reads the statement from MAE.

A representative of the Romanian General Consulate in Marseilles and Romania’s honorary consul in Nice are providing assistance to the family of the deceased Romanian. His wife and child, who were also reported missing after the attack in Nice, are currently admitted to hospitals in France, and their health condition is improving.

Two other Romanians were injured in the tragic incident that occurred in Nice last week, during celebrations organized on France’s national day. According to the media, ISIS claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.
