Young Romanian debuts in British Formula 4

Young Romanian pilot Alexandra Marinescu will make her debut this weekend in the British Formula 4. The first stage of the season will take place at Brands Hatch.

Marinescu, 15, is the first Romanian female driver that has ever participated in single-seater races.

She will compete for Falcon Motorsport, together with British karting star Darius Karbaley, aged 17, reports local Mediafax.

The MSA Formula, which is the new Formula 4 competition organized under rules imposed by FIA, will include three races for each of the calendar’s weekends. The 2015 season comprises a total of 10 stages.  Formula 4 is a competition for juniors.

After ending her go-karting career, which she started when she was 9, Alexandra Marinescu participated in Skip Barber Racing School, a racing system from which many famous drivers have started.  She is famous locally as in 2012 she won all the races she participated in the Romanian National Championship .
