Romania wants a single tax database

14 July 2017

Romania’s Government wants to set up the National Center for Financial Information, an IT structure that would unify all tax-related databases, until September 1, according to a memorandum approved on Thursday, July 13.

It will operate within the Finance Ministry, with the support of the Special Telecommunication Services (STS).

The center will interconnect cash registers, implement the electronic invoice, monitor public spending, and provide information on tax and non-fiscal obligations. It will bring together structures from the Finance Ministry, Tax Agency, National Prognosis Committee or the National Agency for Public Procurement.

The center will also provide information to citizens about their tax obligations.
