Romania to choose song for Eurovision 2013 competition during national final this Saturday

Romania's song for this year’s Eurovision competition will be chosen this Saturday (March 9) from 12 finalist songs.  The Romanian final can be watched live on public TV station TVR. The winner will be selected based on the votes of the jury and the viewers.

The final line-up for the contest scheduled for March 9 is: Casa Presei - Un Refren, Narcis Iustin Ianau - with the song Seven, Freestay - Criminal Mind, Elena Carstea (in picture) - with Spinning, Luminita Anghel - Unique, Ovidiu Anton - Run Away With Me, Cezar - with the song It’s My Life, Cristian Prajescu - with The Best Thing In Life Is To Love, Electric Fence - Emilia, Al Mike and Renee Santana - What Is Love,  Tudor Turcu - with Hello, and Andrei Leonte - Paralyzed.

The winning song will represent Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmo, Sweden.

Romania’s public TV station - TVR is the organizer of the national selection event. Previous best Romanian performances at the Eurovision contest were: third place - Luminita Anghel & Sistem at Kiev in 2005 and Paula Seling and Ovi at Oslo, 2010, and one fourth place - Mihai Traistariu in Athens, 2006.

Last year, Romania ranked 12 in the Eurovision final with the song Zaleilah performed by Mandinga.
