Romania, guest of honor at the 2015 International Book Fair in Istanbul

27 October 2015

Romania will be the guest of honor at the 34th International Istanbul Book Fair, which will take place between November 7 and November 15.

Romania will be present at the fair with a varied program which includes well-known names in contemporary Romanian literature, such as Matei Visniec, Dumitru Tepeneag, Mircea Dinescu, Dan Lungu, Octavian Soviany, Carmen Musat, Daniel Cristea-Enache, Florin Bican, and Doina Rusti, according to a statement of the Romanian Cultural Institute ICR in Istanbul. There will be interviews, panel discussions, poetry and music recitals, professional meetings with publishers, and children's events.

Romania’s slogan at the fair is “We owe you some words,” which was chosen because of the high number of Turkish words found in the Romanian language vocabulary.
