The upcoming Les Films de Cannes a Bucharest event features 15 films from the French film festival, including eight prize winning movies from Cannes 2012. This year's event, running from October 19 until October 25 in Cinema Studio and Elvira Popescu Cinema, will include the first screenings of several films in Romania.

Film fans have the opportunity to see 'Cosmopolis,' master of the strange David Cronenberg's latest picture, which has not been on general release so far in Romania. 'Seven days in Havana,' seven short films by seven different directors set in the Cuban capital, will open the festival on October 19.

Award winning Romanian filmmaker Cristian Mungiu's 'Beyond the Hills is to close the third edition of Cannes in Bucharest. The two lead actresses in Beyond the Hills shared the prize for best actress at this year's Cannes festival.
