Romanian President Kalus Iohannis, currently on a visit to Brussels, said on Thursday, January 15, that European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker assured him of full support for Romania’s accession to the Schengen area.

“We talked and we found that we have the same view on the Schengen topic. Mr. President assured me of full support when it comes to Romania’s Schengen entry,” said Iohannis.

The Romanian President added that they've also discussed about the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism CVM report, saying that the new report will be available in a few days.
