Mircia Muntean, who was recently elected mayor of Deva, a city in central Romania, was sentenced to 6 years in prison, no parole.

He got a two-year sentence for driving under the influence and causing an accident in 2014, reports local Digi24. Back then he was a member of the Parliament.

In October 2014, Muntean caused an accident in Deva after which he tried to run and hide in the bushes. The Police found that he had a blood alcohol level of 1 gram per liter.
