Icelandic bands FM Belfast and Retro Stefson to perform in Bucharest this spring

The Icelandic Pop @ Control event will bring two of the best loved bands from Iceland to Bucharest this spring. FM Belfast (in picture), an electro-pop band formed back in 2005 by Árni Rúnar Hlöðversson (Plúseinn) and Lóa Hlín Hjálmtýsdóttir, will perform live at Control Club in Bucharest on April 27, 2013.

The band were mainly a studio based until the Iceland Airwaves festival in 2006, when Árni Vilhjálmsson and Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason - known from Múm also joined the band. Their first album How To Make Friends was released in 2008 and sold thousands of copies, while the second album Don’t Want To Sleep came out three years later, in 2011. Retro Stefson, the second band to perform live in Control Club this spring, are an Icelandic alternative pop-band formed in 2006 in Reykjavík. Their debut album Montana was released in 2008, followed in 2010 by Kimbabwe in 2010 and Retro Stefson - released two years later. The band’s performance is scheduled for May 10, 2013 and tickets cost RON 15, on the door. More about Retro Stefson here.
