After an investment of EUR 1.73 million, the Casa Lido in downtown Bucharest has been restored and opened as a restaurant under the name Palazzo Lido. The historic building is over 100 years old and the restoration process has not been easy. Plans to restore the former residence of Romanian politician and surgeon Constantin Angelescu have been around for 20 years, and the work itself has taken two years. The new restaurant, called Palazzo Lido, was developed by local hospitality company Christian Impex, which also owns Azzurro Bucharest, IL Venetiano and Tratoria Azzurro.

Cristian Marsh, General Manager Christian Impex, said the company was keen to secure an iconic Bucharest building. The menu is inspired by traditional Sicilian cooking and a chef from Palermo, Sicily, will be in charge of the kitchen. Pasta fresco, risottos and fresh fish and seafood imported daily from Greece all feature on the menu, along with the usual Italian suspects - steaks, meat dishes, salads, and pizzas. Romanian favorites are also on offer.

Palazzo Lido, 13 C.A. Rosetti Street , is open daily from 10:00a m until after midnight.
