After Google Search, Facebook is the main channel used by Romanians who live in rural areas. Main interest topics are personal development, general knowledge, family, health and household.

Most people have low revenues so they want to develop their status by learning online. Many Romanians also connect online to play games.

In terms of brand involvement, rural Romanians appreciate funny advertising, as wel as informative ones. "If the information is useful, they will remember it, and buy the product. Even if most of the money goes to utilities and food, people are interested in what brands have to say," according to the study, quoted by Mediafax.
