Former Justice Minister Catalin Predoiu returns to private sector with new law firm

25 June 2012

Former Romanian Justice Minister Catalin Predoiu, who served at the helm of the country's Justice Ministry between 2008 and 2012, returned to the private sector by setting up his own law firm, Predoiu Law Office. He had the longest mandate at the helm of the Justice Ministry after the fall of communism.

When joining the Government in 2008, Predoiu was with the law firm Zamfirescu Racoti Predoiu that he had founded in the 90s, but agreed not to return to the firm after ending his ministerial mandate. The law firm will continue to run under the same brand, including Predoiu's name.

Catalin Predoiu, Justice Minister under five different Government formulas, led by Calin Popescu Tariceanu from the National Liberal Party (PNL), Emil Boc – from the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL) and Mihai Razvan Ungureanu, will focus on business consultancy and institutional corporate affairs.

His main objective for Predoiu Law Office is to put to work an experience he considers 'invaluable' for the private business environment, Predoiu says, quoted by Bizlawyer.

Catalin Predoiu founded the Racoti – Predoiu law firm together with Ioana Racoti in 1996. In 2007, the firm merged with the law firm Andrei Predoiu, creating Zamfirescu Racoti Predoiu.
