Famous British singer Sting back on Bucharest stage this summer

British musician Sting (in picture) is including Romania in his Back to Bass tour this year. He will perform live at Romexpo in Bucharest on July 31, 2013, with his five-member band.

Born in 1951 in England, Sting, real name - Gordon Sumner, is a well-known as a musician, singer and songwriter. He has also gained a reputation for activism and has long been involved with human rights group Amnesty International, as well as a campaign to support the preservation of the Amazon rainforest and its indigenous communities. Before launching a solo career, he was part of the rock band The Police. As both a solo musician and as a member of The Police, Sting has won several Grammy and Brit awards, a Golden Globe, an Emmy award, and had three Oscar nominations.

He has sold over 100 million albums during his musician career so far. From 1985, Sting has released 13 solo albums. Read more about the artist here.

English band Mike and The Mechanics and singer James Walsh will be the warm-up acts at Sting’s gig.
