Electronic cash registers connected to the Tax Administration’s database become mandatory in Romania

24 December 2014

The Romanian Government recently approved an Emergency Ordinance under which companies will be obliged to have cash registers equipped with an electronic journal and connected to a database of the Tax Administration ANAF, reports local Mediafax.

In early December, the Ministry of Finance announced that companies will no longer be able to equip cash registers only with paper rolls for keeping track of transactions, but with an electronic journal connected to a central server of ANAF. The paper rolls will be kept however to print tax receipts for buyers.
