DIY retailer introduces “click and collect” service in Romania

02 November 2015

The DIY retailer Brico Depot, which is owned by the British company Kingfisher, will introduce the “click and collect” service, which allows local customers to order online and pick up the products in the store they choose.

Kingfisher has recently appointed Frenchman Christian Mazauric as CEO of Brico Depot Romania.

At the beginning of September, Kingfisher, which bought French DIY retailer Bricostore’s local operations two years ago, has completed the transformation process of all the 15 Bricostore units into its own Brico Depot stores.

“In Romania it’s necessary to offer services. Romanians need advice more than the French,” said Mazauric, cited by local Economica.net.

Brico Depot Romania has already developed services which don’t exist in France, such as home delivery or the possibility to buy with credit.

The group also aims to strongly expand its local network and to reach 35 stores in the next few years, although it has no opening in plan for 2016.
