Apple worth half a trillion dollars, nearly four times as much as Romania's GDP
Apple's value passed the USD 500 billion mark for the first in this morning's ( February 29 ) stock market trading. Although not the first company to pass the half trillion dollar milestone, Apple is currently the world's most valuable company. Microsoft, Intel, GE and Exxon have all passed the USD 500 billion point in the past, but are currently worth far less. This puts Apple's value at nearly four times Romania's GDP.
