US stationery giant enters Romanian market

US office and stationery company Staples has entered the Romanian market, after closing a partnership with Romanian stationery supplier Dacris, reports local Economica.net.

Last year, Dacris posted a turnover of EUR 18 million, up 13% compared to the previous year. It estimates a EUR 20 million business in 2015. Dacris currently has over 6,000 customers.

Staples has subsidiaries in 26 countries, in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and it works with 180,000 employees.

In the first quarter of 2015, the US giant posted sales of USD 5.26 billion, down 6.9% compared to the same period in 2014.
