Three directors represent Romania in Rotterdam film festival

Romanian directors Ana Lungu, Alexandru Nanau and Irina Botea represent Romania in this year’s edition of Rotterdam International Film Festival, which starts today, January 21, and ends on February 1.

Irina Botea is present in the festival’s program with several of her short films, namely Before a National Anthem (How Do You Compose a National Anthem Today?), Film Postale – First Chapter, It Is a Matter of Learning Hope, Phalanstere  and We, in the Year 2000.

Romania is also represented by Alexandru Nanau’s documentary Toto and His Sisters and Ana Lungu’s Self-portrait of a Dutiful Daughter.

Toto and His Sisters won the award for best documentary in the 2014 edition of the Warsaw Film Festival, which took place between October 10 and October 19.
