The 'new' Love Boat docks in Romania

13 November 2012

The Pacific Princess luxury cruise liner, which is the most recent incarnation of the boat in the hit US television series the Love Boat, is currently in Constanţa harbor. The original Pacific Princess was retired from service by cruise company Princess Cruises but “our new Pacific Princess continues in the tradition of offering an intimate, small ship experience, just as her predecessor did,” says the firm. The new Love Boat, which carries around 680 in luxurious accommodation, will spend a day in Constanţa.

The arrival marks the ending cruise liner season for Romania. According to the Maritime Ports Administration Constanţa, 45 passenger ships arrived at the Romanian port this year. The number of passengers arriving in Constanţa by ship was up this year – over 31,000, compared to less than 24,000 recorded in the 2011 season, according to reports in the local press.
