Tenor José Carreras and nephew to go on Romanian stage together this December

Spanish tenor José Carreras will perform in Bucharest mid-December, alongside the Romanian National Radio Orchestra, which will be conducted by his nephew David Gimenéz Carreras.

The concert bringing uncle and nephew together will take place on December 15, at the Romexpo exhibition centre in the Northern part of Bucharest. Jose Carreras, 67, will perform pieces of famous operas, as well as winter holiday themed parts.

David Gimenéz Carreras, 49, is the music director of the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès and a principal guest conductor of the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra. He has conducted many of his uncle's concerts, including the 1998 outdoor concert in Barcelona attended by 50,000 people to mark the 10th anniversary of the José Carreras International Leukemia Foundation.

Tickets for the show in Bucharest, organized by project Events and scheduled to start at 20:00, cost between RON 150 and RON 650 (VIP tickets). They can be bought online here.
