Romania's flag carrier Tarom sold its seven ATRs 42-500 to a Caribbean airline, InterCaribbean Airways, which will thus reach a fleet of ten such aircraft, Profit.ro reported. The terms of the deal were not released, but Tarom previously estimated its seven-aircraft fleet for sale at EUR 15 million.

However, Tarom has repeatedly attempted to sell the fleet, including under a "buy-back" contract with a leasing company from which Tarom leased new 72-600 ATRs. The last attempt to sell these planes was at the end of 2022.

Tarom is expected to sign a Boeing 737 MAX lease agreement with Minsheng Commercial Aviation, an aircraft leasing company owned by a Chinese bank.

Tarom has also placed its own order for five Boeing 737 MAX directly with the aircraft manufacturer.
