Romania will receive some EUR 9 billion in EU money from the European Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development between 2014 and 2020, according to Agerpres.

EU money will help fund farms, as well as processing activities, so that Romania makes more value – added products which are more competitive on other markets.

The funding program will also cover some infrastructure investments, including transport, water supply and sewage, as well as education and even health facilities for rural areas, according to Carmen Mihaela Boteanu, deputy general manager of the General Direction for Rural Development.
