16 December 2014

Romanian violinist Alexandru Tomescu will hold a concert this week, together with the National Radio Orchestra, in memory of victims of the 1989 revolution. Romania marks this year 25 years from the revolution in December 1989, which led to the fall of communism in the country.

The first part of the concert will comprise three songs signed by Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa and Alban Berg’s In the Memory of an Angel Violin Concerto, reports local Agerpres. The second part will include the Fourth Symphony, a piece by Gustav Mahler, in the interpretation of the Academic Radio Choir, soprano Madalina Barbu and violinist Virgil Zvoristeanu.

Tickets can be purchased from Romanian Post offices, Inmedio and Germano stores, and from Sala Radio.
