Romanian tennis player Horia Tecau (photo left) and his doubles team mate Dutch Jean-Julien Rojer won the doubles competition in the Valencia Open 500 tournament, on Sunday, October 26. This is the eighth doubles tournament they have won so far this year.

Tecau and Rojer beat the pair made of South-African Kevin Anderson and French Jeremy Chardy in the tournament’s final, in two sets ended 6-4, 6-2. This brought them 500 ATP points and moved them up to fifth place in the doubles team race to London ranking. Tecau and Rojer are very close to playing in this year’s ATP Finals tournament in London, which brings together the best eight men’s tennis players in the world this season and the best eight doubles pairs.

The duo Tecau-Rojer had a good run this year. They played the final in the Australian Open, at the end of January and won eight tournaments (in Zagreb, Casablanca, Bucharest, s-Hertogenbosch, Washington, Shenzhen, Beijing and Valencia).
