Romanian retailers eMag and Flanco to start Black Friday campaign earlier this year

15 November 2013

Romania’s largest online retailer eMag and local retailer Flanco will organize the Black Friday campaign a week earlier this year.

The two retailers announced that they will start the Black Friday weekend on November 22, even if the event should normally take place on November 29.

“We organize Black Friday on November 22 so that we can deliver all the orders by December 1, so before the National Day and Saint Nicholas day,” said Iulian Stanciu, general manager of eMag.

During the campaign, Flanco will have some 150,000 products on discount, while eMAg’s offer will comprise some 250,000 products from all categories, such as IT, photography, books and personal care.

“In 2012, eMag and Flanco’s sales amounted to EUR 27 million and represented 39.5 percent of the total sales recorded during the Black Friday campaign. I predict that this year we’ll reach sales of RON 183 million,” said Stanciu, quoted by local Mediafax.

This year, eMag expects some 200,000 orders in the day of the event, over four million unique visitors and sales of RON 98 million.

Over 60 online shops in Romania will have special offers during this year’s Black Friday campaign.
