Romanian PM proposes Ioan Rus as new Transport Minister

Ioan Rus, 59, is the new proposal for the position of Transport Minister, replacing Dan Sova who resigned on Tuesday, June 24, according to Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta.

Sova will be spokesman for the Social Democratic Party PSD and can return to the position of minister after the presidential elections in November, the PM added, reports local Mediafax.

Rus is a member of PSD and was Minister of Interior between 2000 and 2004. He again occupied this position in 2012, but only for a short period, in May-August.

Transport Minister Dan Sova resigned on Tuesday afternoon, June 24, four months after taking the ministry’s helm.
