Romanian Hungarian Party elects Culture Minister Kelemen Hunor president

Romania’s Culture Minister Kelemen Hunor won the election for president of the Hungarian minority party UDMR Saturday, garnering 371 votes from the 555 party delegates at the party’s congress meeting.

Kelemen's rivals Eckstein Kovacs Peter and Olosz Gergely gained 118 and 47 votes, respectively. According to the official announcement at the end of the vote, only 538 delegates expressed their vote and two ballots were cancelled.
