Romanian group becomes Croatia’s first private rail freight operator

Romanian railway group Grampet has become the first private rail freight operator in Croatia.

Last week it carried out the first freight rail transport in Croatia via one of its member companies, Train Hungary, which had received the freight rail license after a yearlong procedure. The company signed the access contract at the end of April.

Croatia has a strategic importance for railway transports, being part of the pan-European Corridor X.

Grampet Group is active in nine European countries. It covers via its railway operators the markets in Germany, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Bulgaria, Serbia and Moldova.
