01 August 2012

Romania's government plans to introduce a new system for calculating taxes on operations at the Trade Registry, establishing fixed tariffs for services for companies and individuals. The new taxes should be applied within two months after being OK-ed by the Government, which hopes to get extra revenues of some EUR 22 million in 2012.

The new system involves unique tariffs, depending on the request, and not separate tariffs for different kinds of services. For example, in order to register a company, a fixed tax of RON 250 will be paid, which includes the authorization to set up the firm, register it, authorize its activity and the declaration.

For authorized individuals, the cost is RON 90.Simple requests, such as reserving the name of a firm, cost RON 45, while complex requests are RON 220.
