Romanian film Of Snails and Men to open South European Film Festival in LA this year
Romanian film Of Snails and Men (we reviewed it here) will be screened on the opening night, on May 2, at the South European Film Festival in the US, which will have its eight edition between May 2 and 6 in Los Angeles. The opening event will take place at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills, 135 S. Doheny Dr. Director Tudor Giurgiu and lead actress Monica Barladeanu will attend this screening (in picture, middle and right, together with lead actor Andi Vasluianu). The evening will be sponsored by Stefania Magidson and the Blue Heron Foundation. In last year's edition of the festival, Romania was represented by the romantic comedy Hello, how are you?.
The festival will take place in several screening locations: Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills, Goethe Institute in Los Angeles, West Hollywood City Council Chambers in West Hollywood, Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, and UCLA James Bridges Theater in Westwood. Passes for the entire festival are USD 50 for students and USD 75 for the rest. For the opening ceremony and the screening of the Romanian film, tickets cost USD 15. For the closing night on May 6, tickets are also USD 15 and can be bought here.
There will also be two days of free screenings at the new West Hollywood Library building, where a 12-hour movie marathon will be organized.
